About

Margo and Lawrence Davis-Hollander are ontological life coaches. We work in a wide array of domains supporting a wide array of clients to discover, enhance, accelerate and deepen their life goals and purpose.

Sound pretty big? It is.  We aim to live out of the contexts we help impart to our clients. Such as living from balance and a quiet center, expanding our emotional intelligence, taking responsibility for our actions and reactions, noticing how we become caught by our assessments of ourselves, others, even mundane events and objects, acknowledging our mistakes and moving on, bringing more grace and love in to the world, clear communication, being in our authentic selves, accountability, and much more.

We coach leaders and executives, people with projects, those wanting to make a change in their life or develop their vision. We give workshops and trainings,  create solutions for trust building, communication and creating powerful conversations, building organizational and team coherence, and help uncover the breakdowns that limit personal and organizational effectiveness.   Sometimes we work together, coaching groups or conducting trainings, or singly with individual clients.

We have been a couple for 19 years (married for 17 years) and strongly believe in the possibilities for achieving satisfaction and delight in a long term relationship. We coach couples and individuals about love and relationship, train for extraordinary couple communication and lead another workshop for finding your soul mate. Yes, if you are looking for a long term relationship we can help and have had an impressive success rate.

Everyone one of us lives in many spheres of influence — who we are and how we act makes a difference.  We may be highly competent in one sphere and a mere novice in the next.

This learning is available to all of us and transforms how we are, bringing more beauty and richness to our life plus more energy and better actions. We begin to live in freedom, authentically, without all the “background noise”, doubt, fear or whatever it is that holds any of us back. We know this because we are living it and have used, and still use all the tools and practices that helped shape our understanding of what is possible for us as human beings.

Two wonderful boys grace our life and we know the importance of giving them a tender, joyful and relatively unmediated upbringing to learn and grow from while they are young. We have a strong knowledge base about parenting and family life and coach in the domains of family vision and relationships.

We help clients plan and live a well being, or Radical Self-Care™ plan, keeping them on track. Well-being creation and maintenance is integral to having a healthy, fun and satisfactory life. Taking care of our well being supports all of the work we do, whether its managing a business or a household or making new life changes.  Well being success requires good sleep, diet, excercise  play and lots of inner joy.

We have studied many practices which inform our wellness coaching and understanding of well-being including meditation, yoga, massage, food, many forms of diet, cooking, herbs, medicinal plants, ethnobotany, organic farming, homeopathics, vitamins and supplements. Both of us are familiar with chronic illness, Margo personally with many years of chronic fatigue syndrome, and Lawrence with Parkinson’s and chronic illness in family members. Today Margo can claim victory from the restrictive life she led with chronic fatigue, and has tremendous insight for those dealing with long term illness/conditions.

So what is ontological?  It’s our “way of being”. In other words who you are—the way you are–how you live in your life, in the world.  So when we coach you we coach your whole “way of being” and support you to shift into a new way of being, which is the “real” you, the authentic self, unencumbered by all the thousands of messages we get our whole lives from our parents, teachers, religion, culture, advertising etc.  We tend to be blind to our relationship to these messages, and live from them as if there is no other way of being.

The great news is there another ways of being. Authentic to us.  It needs be nurtured. And we need to open our eyes to the clutter we have been carrying around inside us.  As coaches we support and challenge you through whatever stage of the discovery process you are in.

We are blessed to live in a gloriously beautiful part of New England overlooking upon an ever changing vista of well rounded mountains and fields.  Dairy farms dot the neighborhood, most of them along the winding muddy Housatonic River, in some cases the scenery barely changed since the early 19th century.

The pace here is often a lot slower than our nearby cities and suburbs. We are close enough to nature for it to serve as a daily model and reminder of our own essence and what helps sustain us. Our family enjoys regular outings in the nearby woods and waterways, whether on foot, snowshoes, yaktrax, or kayak. We grew up in the suburbs of New York City, and lived in several different cities on the East Coast and have since learned that slowing down is an important step in taking care of ourselves and discovering our essence.

In addition to being a coach Lawrence is a trained mediator and facilitator. He founded and ran the Eastern Native Seed Conservancy for years promoting and advocating the conservation of rare seeds and food plants in the eastern United States. He elevated his skill set in fund development, PR and marketing, event management and more. Working with Native Americans he supported them to save and promote their own seed resources. Trained as an ethnobotanist and ecologist he learned about evolutionary trends and systems organization in the natural world. He has always had a deep connection and interest with environment and plants, which continues to inform his work as a coach.

Margo has been inspired by beauty and art, and a deep desire to create a life of constant learning, growing, personal and impersonal transformation. Her interest in natural healing and art led her to create the first of her very successful botanical posters while still in college. As an entrepreneur she founded a botanical illustration company and produced many more posters and licensed artwork for the next 15 years. Before college she began her journey to understand and choose liberation from various family of origin issues and move herself out of the limiting assessments of WASP culture. She studied psychotherapy and various transformational tools including 12 step programs,  mindfulness practices and coaching. More recently she has taken a practicum in mothering and continues her passionate information gathering on subjects from diet and exercise, to coaching and body-mind connection.

Presently we see an accelerating trend in the development of consciousness in many domains revealing new potentials for interrelating, and solutions to human created problems. Increasing collaborations within and between organizations, business and other groups will propel the evolution of the human spirit and culture through coaching and other integral approaches.

We work with individual employees and groups in business and non-profit sectors, creating coherence within teams, the organization, its managers and executives—leadership at all levels. We co-discover the breakdowns that keep people and organizations from effective action and provide support in the transformation to more powerful ways of being.

We coach individuals from many walks of life who seek support in diverse domains of personal and professional development. Areas that we specialize in include, Life Transition, Vision Coaching, Entrepreneurial, Leadership, Wellness Coaching and Dating (Soul Mate) and Relationship Coaching.
